The Basin is a safe and secure swimming zone located at the Northern end of Kelly's Beach by Christensen Park. Its a family friendly sheltered swimming area which was built out of local volcanic rock by Kanaka labour many years ago. Its easy to find fish in the basin as well after higher tide. There are also barbeques and toilets, perfect for a picnic by the beach with views to admire.
