If you have time for a short day trip Ole Bulls villa is situated on an island with very nice walking paths. Book a tour of the villa or go for a walk in the composer's gardens and nature paths.Good gravel paths. This is a very nice and peaceful place.Check with tourist information as you need a bus ride and a short boat shuttle. I guess there are tours in the summer season. If you have a car - park at Buene Kai. Check boat routes from Buene Kai in advance. Open 18 May to 31 .August

The beautiful villa on Lysøen was built as a summer residence for the Norwegian violin virtuoso Ole Bull in 1873. Open to the public in the summer. Make sure to go here when there is a classic concert on. Also, take some time to walk around the parks Ole Bull built, a very pretty place.

The composer Ole Bull's eccentric and very very special home. It's on an island about 30 minuted from Bergen, and you need to take a mini-ferry to get to the island. Catch the Sunday bus service from the tourist information in Bergen at 11:30. This includes transport, a guided tour, and a concert in the music hall (which is amazing). Highly recommended at 350 NOK.
