Considered by many to be the most scenic beach on Maui.

Beautiful beach. Be careful as the break in the surf can be quite dangerous. Not recommended for small children. This is also referred to as "Big Beach". On the other side of the mountain is "Little Beach", which is a nude beach.

The crown jewel of southern Maui is the amazing Makena Beach, known as Big Beach. There are three separate entrances into the beach, we like thirds, but each one works. The snorkeling, swimming and views are iconic. Please enter the water with caution if the surf is up and if there is a strong onshore water break. Big Beach is beautiful, but can be dangerous if your are not an experienced swimmer. Pack a lunch or dinner and stay awhile if you can.

Long sandy walk and no traffic near the beach to see Haleakala hills behind you. Just be VERY CAREFUL IN THE SURF, watch flag warnings or don’t swim if surf looks at all high to waist. Going to swim at kam2&3 are safer coves& by 5 palms is very nice can be sheltered from wind too!
