You get the best of both worlds on this trail! One minute you are walking through along the Deschutes River in the Old Mill district and then surrounded by juniper and pine.

I love the river trail because you can jump on it from several locations in town. Start at the River Wave Park, the Old Mill, or Farewell Bend Park and head upstream on the Deschutes River for a peaceful walk in nature.

Excellent trail for walking, sightseeing, and riding bikes.

The city is working on making this a continuous trail from Sun River through Bend. It is currently in 5 segments. Some are pave and flat, perfect for wheelchairs, others are dirt and a climb. look up deschutes river trail, Bend Park and Rec for details on each segment. Absolutely beautiful.
