The Mount Macedon Memorial Cross was to honour the war dead of World War I. It can be seen from a great distance from the plains below the mountain. there are several picnic ground at the base and top of the mountain. also a cafe and bbq places at the top of the mountain.

An easy walk amongst tall eucalypts and particularly beautiful during the Winter months when there is snowfall. Unfortunately this area has suffered significant damage in recent storms, so worth checking online whether its open before you head off. Roads to ‘The Mount’ tend to close in high wind conditions due to falling trees.

Terrific views in all directions from the memorial accessible from cafe car park via short walk on sealed pathway.
