During seasonal months the visitor center has interactive programs for children on nature etc. They have a casual boat ride along lake with information on area. This boat ride is easy and can be enjoyed by any age. Safety floatation provided during time on lake. Can kayak lake easily and hosts have two available kayaks and safety vests. ( will need a truck or ability to transport to lake if hosts not home during your stay)

Great for fishing!! Very close to the Hobbit house. Arkansas river and historical path of the Trial of tears ( also see Lock and dam) Historical visitor center. if you gather 7 or more people you can get a historical boat ride free. That is a neat ride on the lake. Showing some cool things.

The site of bass tournaments and boat rentals. There is a swimming beach area, kayak rentals, and a River Valley cultural center. This is a five-mile drive from the Hale Homestead Barn.
