One of the exhibits includes the 3.5-million-year-old bones of Lucy also known as Dinkenesh which in Amharic translates into 'you are marvelous'.

A range of exhibits are showcased in the three-floor building of the National Museum incorporating wide scope of Ethiopian history dating back from prehistoric ages to the present time. Most of the fascinating artifacts provide a visitor ample historical overview of Ethiopia. The most famous exhibit found in the Museum is the replica statue of Lucy, considered the oldest hominid skeleton estimated to have lived in our planet 3.18 million years ago. Ethiopian artworks depicting the historical legacies of the Axumite and the Lalibella Kingdoms, as well as relics from the Tana Monastery and the Haile Selassie reign are displayed in the museum that needs to be seen. Another great museum in Addis Ababa, ten minutes-walk from the National Museum, is the Ethnological Museum found inside the main university campus.

This is where the bones of the oldest human being is located. Widely known as "Lucy" she's locally called "Dinknsh" which means 'you are marvelous/amazing.' Within walking distance from there is the old palace of Emperor Haile Selassie, and other worthwhile sights. Plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby too.
