There are a few small beaches accessible through the Marmara village (there are signs on the Marmara village which guide you) accessible only by car. One of them is Kalogeros with its wild natural beauty and its wonderful colors given by clay, well-known for its healing properties. Kalogeros does not have amenities for swimmers but you can take sea’s umbrella from Andy’s House.

Kalogeros beach extends to the right of Molos, with its wild natural beauty and its wonderful colours given by clay, well-known for its healing properties. It is a unique natural spa. A rock rises at the end of the beach, where according to the tradition a monk (kalogeros in Greek) committed suicide, giving the beach its name. Accessible through the Marmara village, by taking the road to the right after Molos, using your own means of transport.

Known as mud beach as there earth there has mineral properties. Cover yourself with mud, let it dry then wash off in the sea.

Wild scenery. This beach on the east coast only ever has a few bathers. There’s no built-up tourism here, just a mushroom-shaped sandy bay with views of Naxos, bookended by the Kefalos and Antikefalos hills. To the south of the bay is a small harbour, hemmed by strange granite rock formations. Kefalos hill is also worth your attention as it’s an extinct volcano. At the top, standing in the crater, is the 16th-century monastery of Agios Antonios, while the vestiges of a 15th-century Venetian castle sit nearby.
