The local butcher. Could be crowded during christmas. Ask for their dry aged entrecote.
Meat slaughter, everything from sausages to Norwegian style "fenalår" (salted, dried and cured leg of lamb).
One of the last proper butchers shops in Oslo, serving up a wide range of home made sausages and delicacies. At christmas-time the locals will be queuing for hours here to get the best ingredients for their christmas dinner.

“In Norway you can by beer in the store, but for any other kind of alcohol you have to go to the "vinmonopolet". There's one in the shopping centre at the top of the hill, up where the tram goes. Really good selection of wines, spirits and a varied beer selection too.”

“Kaffebrenneriet is a chain, but not in the negative sense of the word: They buy directly from farmers, and have made social responsibility part of their business model. AND they have great coffee!”

“Eco-café in a really cozy little area by the Akerselva river. Old industrial buldings are transformed into what looks like a small little village on its own with small unique shops, a theater and a square. Worth a visit!”
