Originally established in 1871, The Phoenix Saloon was the first bar in Texas to serve women. A historic Texas bar, chili parlor and live music venue.
Housed in an old chili factory it makes sense that they do offer chili from mild to hot. If you order the "Killer" chili you have to sign a waiver. The mild is hot enough for me! Great corn bread too. Live music and an old baseball pinball machine.
Famous for the chili - birthplace of Gebhart's Chili. Great old building downtown.
