Very cute dutch city and a nice day trip. The drive only takes you about 1:15 hrs and you'll certainly not regret it, especially if you like flowers and fries :)

The Groningen railway station is the prettiest station of the Netherlands (according to Dutch public transport travellers). The station building was designed by Izaak Gosschalk and combines Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance elements. Under the station you will find the biggest free bike parking of Groningen, it has room for 5000 bikes. It is full of bikes and has bike elevators too, to optimize the space. Park your bike in the racks, otherwise it will get removed and sold by the municipality. Don’t forget your rusty one, because you can only park for a maximum of 10 days. Afterwards it will be removed and sold.
