This museum is built at the site of the artificial harbour. Remnants of Mulberry Harbour can still be seen, a few hundred yards away from the shore. On June 6th 1944, some 4,126 Allied ships successfully achieved the greatest landings in history on the beaches of Normandy and find out more about the how the Mulberry Harbour was constructed - a truly extraordinary technological feat which provided the key to Victory in Normandy.

The Arromanches D-Day Museum overlooks the beach, close to the spot where the remnants of the artificial harbour can still be seen on the sandy shore and in the waters near Arromanches. The museum illustrates the remarkable logistics and technical aspects of "Operation Mulberry," which involved the building of the Mulberry Harbours. Near the museum are many cafés and shops on the bustling Place du 6 Juin square. www.musee-arromanches.fr
