Ilingas means "vertigo" in Greek. The beach is located at the exit of the Ilingas gorge and approximately 2 km west of Chora Sfakion by the road to Anopolis. After following a short and easy-to-walk path, you will come upon this spectacular beach with pebbles and crystal clear water. There are a few sunbeds and umbrellas at the beach, yet if want to avoid this extra cost you can head east; there are a couple of caves by the beach, large enough to protect you from the blazing sun.

Ilingas: This beach has sea caves. There is an organized beach with sun beds and umbrellas where they have beach service with drinks and snacks. Iligas is an amazing turquoise-water sandy beach, 1km west of Chora Sfakion and 74km south of Chania city. Iligas is located at the end of Kavi Gorge, that starts close to Anopolis. There are three beaches, separated by amazing sea caves. The main beach is longer and can be accessed by walking a short distance from the main road of Sfakia. The rest beaches are located to the east of the former and can be accessed only by boat or by swimming from the main beach. There are many caves on all three beaches, in which you can keep yourself in shadow. It's quite easy to access and is close to Sfakia village, so you can visit iligas beach by walking from Sfakia about 10-15 min.
