Beautiful year-round. Great for watching sunsets. Perfect place to ski or snowshoe on wintry days as well.

There are many places to enjoy the Superior Shoreline, and Mclain State Park has a breakwall and warm(er) water swimming inside the protected area. See the Park schedule for Ranger-led programs.

Can’t come to the Copper Country and not visit McLains. It’s a pretty park just across the breakwater from North Canal Park. Unfortunately there’s no bridge, so you drive to town and loop through Hancock to get there. Unless you want to kayak across the canal.

This state park offers walking trails, a large beach, a scenic pier and lighthouse, pavilions and an ice cream shop.
