Arguably the most spectacular locations in Tasmania, Coles Bay is simply amazing. Whether it is a walk to the lookout or down to the Wineglass Beach, it is sure to be a memorable experience. The Freycinet lodge is a magnificent place to visit for food or a refreshment overlooking the water.

Iconic views over Wineglass Bay. 30-40 minute walk to the lookout, depending on your fitness. A must do while you're in Coles Bay.

Distance from: Orford – 1 hour 35 mins (120 km) from Orford located in Freycinet National Park (Wineglass Bay Lookout car park) this popular trail takes you to one of the most stunning views in all of Tasmania - Wineglass Bay. It's simply not to be missed but, to actually see the wineglass shape of the bay, you'll have to hike a bit to get to this elevated lookout. Despite the ascent, this trail is suitable for just about everyone. You'll have to bring plenty of water and wear a bit of sunscreen, as the hike is mostly exposed, hot and dry. The track is well-worn and takes you over compact granite to some steps that are suitable for most. There are signs everywhere and you'll likely encounter plenty of people so there is no risk of getting lost. It's a great walk for the whole family and the entire trail should take you no more than 1.5 hours. A valid parks pass is required for entry to Tasmania's national parks. Once inside Freycinet National Park, follow the main road to the walking tracks car park.
