HOST RECOMMENDED: This has it all: great beer, but also wine for the non-beer drinkers, a food truck if you're hungry, and a huge outdoor crushed seashell patio with lots of shade. As a bonus, there is beautiful woodwork on and in the building. They usually have live music, often a solo guitarist. Look for my favorite little dog painting on the outside wall.

A great brewery that excels in classic German beer. The attention to detail the owner took as he built the taproom is breathtaking. If you enjoy high-quality beer, appreciate stunning woodwork, and would like to see some of Dunedin's sailing history, Woodwright is the place in Dunedin to check out.
