Living Free is a nonprofit animal sanctuary whose primary mission is to rescue dogs and cats whose time is up at public shelters. Also home to War Horse Creek, an immersive transition training program using rescued wild mustangs to assist veterans as they adjust to civilian life They offer tours of 5 people or less at a time. Call to reserve.

Living Free is a dream come true to animals who have been rescued from high kill shelters. They are located on Hwy. 74 near Hwy. 243 in Mountain Center. Here you will see adorable animals looking for forever homes. If you go, please leave a donation as they live on donations.

If you’re an animal lover, you’ll want to spend an hour at this sanctuary located “just around the bend” from Idyllwild on California Highway 243. Living Free Animal Sanctuary uses its 150 acres to care for rescued animals. Dogs, cats, burros, and wild mustangs call this place home.

Go to adopt a dog or cat or just to cuddle the cats :-) Very cool organization and beautiful surroundings for these displaced and rescued animals. This is a no-kill sanctuary that welcomes visitors.
