There is a paved walkway around the lake for walkers, runners and bikers. There is a park at each end. The town with its restaurants and stores, library and churches is within walking distance.

Lake Quannapowitt offers a 3.1 mile walking/jogging path around the lake, with seasonal kayak rentals, children's playground, and park benches to sit and relax. There is a Farmer's Market at the North Avenue parking lot on Saturdays June through September.

Lake Quannapowitt is in the heart of Wakefield. There are two parks for children at opposite ends of the 3.1 mile circumference of the lake. You will find many walkers, joggers, cyclists, and mothers with baby strollers during daylight hours all year round. There is a grassy common at the town end of the lake. You can rent kayaks & paddle boards in season. You can see windsurfers & sailboats.
