Sehr schoene Aussicht auf Chalong Sehr Alter Budda 50m Hoch von verschiedenen Moenchen gebaut.Fischmarkt und verschiedene Aussichtspunkte sehr empfelenswert.

Der Große Buddha von Phuket (Thai: พระพุทธมิ่งมงคลเอกนาคคีรี – Phra Phuttha Mingmongkhon Akenakkhiri) ist eine Buddha-Statue auf der Insel Phuket in der Südregion von Thailand. Sie wurde 2008 (bis auf den Sockel) fertiggestellt und ist einer der markantesten Aussichtspunkte der Insel. Die imposante Marmorstatue ist 45 Meter hoch und hat einen Durchmesser von 25 Meter am Sockel. Der Buddha sitzt auf einem großen Podest aus stilisierten Lotusblüten und schaut vom Gipfel des Nakkerd Hill (Khao Nakkerd) nach Osten auf die Chalong-Bucht. Für den noch nicht ganz fertiggestellten Sockel kann man gegen eine kleine Gebühr noch Marmorplatten kaufen und mit seinem Namen versehen einbauen lassen.

Must see place. Try coconut icecream, look at monkeys (6pm), climb to 45m statue of Buddha, listen for monks prayers, get lucky strap on the wrist, pray for luck and health. Wonderful pictures and views.

Phuket's Big Buddha is one of the most important and revered landmarks on the island. The huge image sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata and, at 45 metres tall, can be seen from as far away as Phuket Town and Karon Beach. The lofty site offers the best 360-degree views of the island, with sweeping vistas of Phuket Town, Kata, Karon, Chalong Bay and more. Relatively easily reachable via a winding 6-km road leading from Phuket's main artery route, it is a must-visit island destination.
