Zum Eigentum der Patrizierfamilie Borromeo gehören auch heute noch die Isola Madre (mit Museum) und die Isola Bella (mit berühmter Parkanlage). Auf der Isola Superiore (auch Isola Pescatori genannt) befinden sich viele gute Restaurants und Hotels.
