A sculpturist that was one step ahead of his generation. This is his home as it was when he lived there and his sculptures. Very much worth the visit

I just love the "secret" garden on the corner from Hallgrímskirkja any time of year. The exquisite sculptures are over 100 years old that adorn the garden have complex and yet interpretable symbolism. His works include Ingólfur Arnarson- the first settler (located on Arnarholl Hill) and Jón Sigurdsson (facing parliament on Austurvöll square)

A beautiful museum with an equally beautiful park behind it, Listasafn Einars Jónssonar, or Hnitbjörg, is dedicated to, you guessed it, Einar Jónsson, the Icelandic sculptor and painter. The building is beautiful, if a little bit ominous, and Einar used to live there with his wife. Legend has it the he hated children and wanted to keep them out of his beautiful park.
