A bit of a drive, but a wonderful spot. This one doesn't have a swimming hole, but it is fun to wander over the falls on a cool walking bridge.

Pretty drive from Burlijgton. Quick hike with some uphill. Beautiful waterfall. Stop in Middlebury for dinner or lunch. Or stop at the A&W root beer drive up restaurant. It is very nostalgic. Burgers and fries.

JUST A MILE UP THE ROAD!! This is a well maintained, easy trail system surrounding the Texas Falls gorge complex. Amazing and safe waterfall views over a new bridge and trails that lead up into the National Forest. The road is dotted with picnic tables, grills, toilets and a pavilion. In summer months the forest road takes you up to primitive camping and alpine meadows!

Waterfall, swimming hole in beautiful forest. Requires a lovely drive over mountain pass. Weekday morning would be best. Maybe 45 minutes away

  • Natural Feature
“Right next to Hwy 100, but hidden in the trees, a large beautiful waterfall. The route up there from Rochester on Hwy 100 (and through to Warren), makes a great bike ride with only moderate (for VT) gradients. Four gap rides depart from this stretch of Hwy 100 for those looking for some serious mountain riding. Brandon, Middlebury, Lincoln and Appalachian gaps on the west side, Roxbury and Rochester gaps to the east.”
