- Historische Stätte“The temple was dedicated to Zeus, king of the Olympian Gods. Its construction started in the 6th century BC but it was completed only in the 2nd century AD under the reign of the Roman emperor Hadrian. In that time it was considered to be the largest temple in Greece. It is made from Pentelic marble and had originally 104 Corinthian style columns. In the Byzantine and Christian times parts of the temple were used as building material. Today the visitors can still see a part of the temple and 15 of its columns that are still standing in their original position. ”

- Capitol Building“The Hellenic Parliament is the unicameral legislature of Greece, located in the Old Royal Palace, overlooking Syntagma Square in Athens. Right in front of the Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier takes place the Changing of the Guards. It is one of the most popular free things you should see at least once when you are in the Greek capital. The Changing of the Guards happens every hour, on the hour. Rain, shine or snow, the Guards will be there. They march in front of the Tomb, and change shifts in couples, using intricately choreographed moves.”
