In 1984, Vernon and Mary Bowers opened Kuntry Katfish with its original ten tables, and seating for forty. Through hard work and good fortune, it has become the popular Conroe hotspot you see today. Kuntry Katfish is as much known for its community involvement as it is for its good food. After Vernon’s passing in 2001, the restaurant continues to be family owned and operated. We at Kuntry Katfish hope you enjoy your meal as much as we enjoy bringing it to you.

Family run restaurant with the best catfish in the area.

They have delicious fried catfish paired with Southern Sides. You sit in a rustic dining area.

Southern sides, fried catfish (and more) partnered with a tasty original green tomato relish that they sell by the jar. Relaxing fully restored atmosphere, they have a long history in town, and they overcame severe flooding during Hurricane Harvey in August of 2017.
