Commissioned in 1979 the stainless steel Defenders of the Polish Post Monument. A wonderful example of Communist-era public art. Pomnik i muzeum obrońców poczty polskiej z września 1939.

Since 1994, the department has organised ‘poetry evenings”, temporary exhibitions and “concerts”. Currently, there are four rooms accessible to visitors. Since 1 January 2003, the Museum of the Polish Postal Service in Gdańsk has been a department of the Gdańsk Historical Museum.
