DELICIOUS. Every item on the menu is a home run, especially their signature Chilaquiles. They are open for breakfast and lunch, but if you plan on eating breakfast, get there early or be willing to wait for a table (most times).

Ooh yeah, this is the spot for the health junkie in you. Vegan and vegetarian friendly breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices, smoothies, local coffee, kombucha, etc. They also have vegan pastries!

Hollingshead’s is reminiscent of a Midwest sandwich shop where the beer is cold, the sandwiches are huge, and Greenbay Packers are king. Run completely by the family, you’ll notice father and son pouring beer and cracking jokes all while dropping their extensive beer knowledge on their patrons. They are not open late so get there right before or after lunch time for best seating.

You’d be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t try the Mar y Tierra burrito. It’s steak, it’s shrimp; it’s incredible. Also highly recommended, the Al Pastor taco, freshly made churros (with icing!), and a good ole bean and cheese burrito (they crispy melt cheese to the tortilla!!). All in all, healthy meats, homemade sauces, and all cooked to order.

The District Lounge is a local spot for Chapman University students to drink and let loose. You can avoid the college crowd from open to about 8-9pm. They serve cocktails, bottled beer, and bar style food (tacos, burgers, wings, tots, etc), and have TVs all around if you're keen to watch "the game"

If you’re looking for a dive bar, this is it! Paul’s cocktails is a locals and Chapman University student hang out. Drinks are strong, music is loud, and the AC blows icicles. They have a covered outdoor patio as well which is comfortable for summer nights.

Enjoy live music by various local favorites almost every night of the week, and share a dance with a feisty retiree! Drinks are super strong, so don’t forget to grab an Uber home.

Crystal Cove is a state owned beach where you can find plenty of space to enjoy the beach, tide pools, and a few little restaurants and bars right on the shore. You must walk down a long steep hill with your gear so be aware. Parking is $15 a day to use this area.

Crescent Bay Beach is one of my favorite beaches in So Cal. It’s very small and tucked away, but so super great to enjoy the water and people watch while catching a tan or a beautiful sunset. There is a small liquor store up the street on PCH that sells pre made sandwiches and drinks that you can bring down to the beach with you. You must park in the neighborhood around this beach so come early so you can get a decent spot.
