Not only is a state national park but it's also a hiking place, for those people who like this type of activity. This park has the snowed peak closest to sea level in the entire world. The beaches are a national treasure, so you won't see hotels or private properties. It is just nature!

If you want to have a great experience while watching a movie, you need to visit this theater, located in Arecife Mall. One of the theaters offer reclining seats and while you whatch the movie you can have a meal that is brought to you by the theaters employees. You buy and reserve the seats prior to arrival using fandango.com, and you want to do so because it is always full 100%, specially if you decide to go on a Wednesday when they offer a 50% discount on their theater tickets.

Avis rental car has a service where they pick you up at the airport, you might end up paying a little more than if you go to their office at el Rodadero, but the convenience is a plus. Be aware so there are no surprises that Santa Marta has a law which they call pico y placa, during one day of the week you won't be able to use the car and avis or any rental car company is not going to stop charging you for that day (sorry). This law was implemented to control the amount of cars on the streets during the week. It starts a 7am and ends a 8pm during that day, after 8pm you can use the vehicle. Be aware of the photo tickets, and stopping the vehicle touching the while lines before the lights.
