Iconic to the area, in Howick, with a variety of touristy restaurants and shops with local crafters selling their wares. There's a strong local initiative to keep it clean and ensure your safety, but there is a need to be vigilant and cautious to conceal wallets, cell phones and camera equipment and not visit at night, as there have been incidents of mugging.

A small private nature reserve with stunning views of the Mgeni River valley. Picnic areas, walking and cycle trails in a savanna where you may encounter some common plains game.

WESSA's head office is located here and the reserve caters for school outings and self-catering stays. The reserve is accessed along a flat dirt-road but walking / cycling trails drop off steeply into the valley where you will find plains game and abundant birdlife, including the trumpeter hornbill, in the savanna vegetation. Some of the tributaries are great for swimming, even bum-sliding down cascades, but it's probably best to avoid swimming in the Mgeni River due to poor water quality.

Behind the shop is a beautiful bronze of the Elves and the Shoemaker and his wife, truly worth seeing. They breed their own Nguni cattle on the farm.
