Mount Mansfield
Hike the highest mountain in Vermont!
Incredible bike trail that runs along stretches of the Lamoille River, through forests, on the edges of towns. Built on a former railroad line now with a fine-gravel surface. Now 87 miles long from Swanton to St Johnsbury. Easy access from the rental a few miles away at Cambridge Junction. E-bikes available to rent from Bootleggers bikes.

Our favorite canoeing and camping spot! 40 minutes from our house. No motorized boats allowed. Small day use fee and also has canoe or kayak access overnight camping. Loons and views can't be beat.

One of our all time favorite hikes, access is at top of notch and great for hiking with all ages, young and old. One mile up, you will reach Sterling Pond and a short hike beyond pond will bring you to the top of Sterling mountain chair lift of Smuggler's resort with breathtaking views of the valley.

One mile up, you will reach Sterling Pond and a short hike beyond pond will bring you to the top of Sterling mountain chair lift of Smuggler's resort with breathtaking views of the valley.
It is a breathtaking drive through this mountain pass with cliffs and waterfalls. Park at the top, get out and get dizzy looking up. Bouldering is great up here. Hike the Sterling pond trail which is across from parking lot. This steep and windy mountain pass is open during the summer, spring and fall but closed to vehicles in the winter for safety. It is open to foot traffic, skiers, snowshoers and ice climbers in the winter.

Smugglers Notch State Park
