Some people say you can hear the Korkeasaari lions roar even in Merihaka. But if you want to see them too it's quite easy to get to the Helsinki's Zoo island. You can hop on a boat at Hakaniemi or take the new bridge via Mustikkamaa Island.

Small park on an island nearby. Easiest way to get on an island. :) And it's located on the way from Merihaka towards the nice sights around Kauppatori.

Amazingly remote feeling island not far from densely populated areas, but it feels like countryside. You could take tram 6 to the end station and go jogging through the wooden walkway to the island.

This bay inside the city has a nice park around it. And the park has few notable buildings: Finlandia Concert hall and the Opera House

Shopping
In Finland the only place to buy wine (or any alcohol above 5%) is a special chain of shops called Alko. This is the closest one. It also has a bit bigger grocery store in the same building, and a nice bakery just across the road.
