As mentioned you can get a bus to Wynyard (Sydney CBD) from my street or you can catch a ferry from Manly Wharf so get a great view of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

Best view of Sydney Harbour from the highest point in Manly. The 135 bus leaves from across the road from Manly Wharf (Crinitis restaurant) every 30 minutes to North Head Sanctuary/ North Fort. Make sure you catch the 135 that only to the Q Station because quite a long walk to the lookout from there.

This is my favorite spot for breakfast near the Spit Bridge on middle harbour or dinner outside on a warm night but you will need to book to be guaranteed a seat. Go for a walk around the very scenic Spit before or after your meal. Be aware though that there is a cost for car parking unless you park on the north side of the Spit Bridge or park after 6pm. Manly regular buses from my place to the Spit and only 3 stops on bus. The very popular Spit to Manly walk (Manly Scenic Walkway) along middle harbour starts here and takes about 4 hours.

If you want to go somewhere close that you can walk to with amazing views of Middle Harbour for lunch, dinner or even just a few drinks Skiffies is the place to go to. Its also just 3 stops on the 143, 144, 178 or 190 bus.
There is also a Skiff Club in Manly (10 minutes walk east of Manly Wharf) that has wonderful views of Manly Cove, larger range of food but more crowded.

Shelly beach is a 10 minute walk from Manly Beach and is within a protected marine reserve, great for a relaxing swim, snorkel or scuba dive without surf waves. You can see the Manly water dragons along this walk if you look close enough. There are cafes here also where you can have a meal at anytime of the day.

World famous Manly beach is the closest surf beach to my place. The buses to catch from my place to Manly are 134, 144 and 132. I recommend you swim between the patrolled areas marked by the red & yellow flags. There will be 3 or 4 areas along Manly Beach marked for swimming along Queenscliff Beach, North Steyne Beach & South Steyne Beach.
Little Manly Beach (East of Manly Wharf) is 5 minutes drive from Manly Beach and is more protected from the conditions, so no surf, netted pools area and cafe. Great for young families.

Manly Beach
World famous Manly beach is the closest surf beach to my place. The buses to catch from my place to Manly are 134, 144 and 132. I recommend you swim between the patrolled areas marked by the red & yellow flags. There will be 3 or 4 areas along Manly Beach marked for swimming along Queenscliff Beach, North Steyne Beach & South Steyne Beach.

I highly recommend the walk from North Harbour reserve past Fairlight beach to Manly Wharf which is part of the Spit Bridge/Reserve walk to Manly.

A very nice quiet place on middle harbour which has a netted harbour pool, cafe and a good playground for the kids to have lots of fun. I highly recommend the walk from North Harbour reserve past Fairlight beach to Manly Wharf which is part of the Spit Bridge/Reserve walk to Manly.

Sydney's famous Taronga Zoo was opened in 1916 and is a must for any visitors to Sydney that want to see all our Australian animals close up. You can get a 143, 144, 178, bus to Spit Junction then another bus to Taronga Zoo otherwise catch two ferries, one from Manly to Circular Quay (city) then go to wharf 4 to catch another ferry to the Zoo.
