Only a short walk from Villa CHIO. This is OUR beach :) and our favourite place to hang out by the sea! Be sure to walk around the corner to secret beach. We take the beach trolley with everything we need and spend the day. It's a stony beach so take the chairs and beach shoes (sold in Toscamar shop on the way to the Cala Blanca). Just a short walk along the coast there's La Caleta, a nice beach bar and cafe with a salt water pool.

Another fantastic viewpoint with plenty of hiking trails. It's pretty flat along the top and not too strenuous. One option is to hike up and down to the lighthouse from Javea port. It's about 40 minutes each way and a little more difficult.

Montgo national park is amazing. Parking for trails can be found on the pass between Javea and Denia. Near the shooting club. Stroll along the plateau or be more adventurous. Climb Montgo mountain You can hike to the top of Montgo. It a medium in our opinion. The last 30mins of the 2hr30 climb it a little challenging. Our kids manage it. Climb to Montgo's "eye" Montgo side on looks like a elephant. The "eye" is a cave and can be reached from a trail. There are markings, but it is not the easiest to follow and as with the main Montgo climb it's a little challenging at the end. Have a look from our roof terrace and plan your route!

This is one of our absolute favourites. Only accessible by sea or a relatively easy walking trail of about 1.5km. If you decide you don't want to swim from Cala Blanca beach...then it's about a 20 minutes walk from Villa Chio to Portixol Cross (a monument at the top of Crta. de Portixol). From the villa walk to Toscamar and turn right following the winding road to the top of the hill. Trails are marked at the cross. Left for Sardinera or right to Playa del Portixol. There are viewpoints all along the way. It's a spectacular place and you won't be disappointed either way you choose. Although if you head to Playa del Portixol you will be rewarded with a fabulous restaurant and bar!
