Great hike up Vermont's 3rd highest peak at 4,083ft. It's featured on the State quarter. Please note that there are two trailheads—one in Duxbury and one in Huntington. Be sure you descend the correct trail or you may be on one side while your car is on the opposite side of the mountain. No matter which trail you choose to hike, the views are insanely gorgeous!

There aren't too many of these left, but Vermont is lucky enough to have some scattered about the state. And we are lucky enough to have one close by. If you want to visit an authentic country store, it's worth the drive to Ripton. They still used the old brass cash register, sit by the pot bellied stove and yep, folks still come to get their mail out of the tiny brass mail boxes in the corner. You can buy a neighbor's jar of pickles or a local artist's note cards.
