Awarded with first prize in the national "Sherbet" contest for creating the best gelato flavor of 2014, Raffaele del Verme, owner of the famous "Gelateria Di Matteo" will greet you with the typical, genuine hospitality of Cilento, and introduce you to his delicacies. It is thanks to his approach and expertise in making gelato that he is quickly becoming one of the masters of the craft in Italy. We recommend his "Fichi e Cioccolato" (Dried Figs and Chocolate), "Noci e Mandarino" (Walnuts and Tangerine), "Pistacchio e Ricotta" (Pistachios with Buffalo ricotta) among the many more he will have available during the summer season. Forget the sugary, tasteless ice cream you're used to in touristy places. Here, you're not just in for a treat; you'll find an artisan, one of the few left in the whole country.

Perfect spot for Breakfast and a nice terrace to have premium steak and local dishes, it's the closest to the lodging we recommend, just at the beginning of the village of Perdifumo, at 1 km from Palazzo Magno and easy to get to even on foot!

The "Sentiero degli Innamorati" will bring you upwards on the cliffs of Ascea Marina, to the old "Torre del Telegrafo" (telegraph tower), where you can take in the beauty of the glorious sunsets on the long shore south of Monte Stella.
The hike trail is easy and it requires roughly an hour to be completed.
The vista will not disappoint!

Here they say the waters are never as blue as the ones in Palinuro and Marina di Camerota, and they're probably right.
You can book a boat trip for around 15 euros per person here and have the local fishermen ferry you to the most iconic spots and beaches in the lower area of the Cilento coast. Among these you should not miss "Baia del Buondormire" and all of the natural grottoes of stunning beauty inside the cliffs overlooking the blue sea, like the "Grotta Azzurra".
The fishermen cooperative will also have boats for Marina di Camerota and its beauties, like "Baia degli Infreschi" and "Cala Bianca" (two times in a row selected as the most beautiful beach in Italy).

Beautiful mediterranean wilderness and a newly opened hike trail that will bring you to the top of the hill of Punta Tresino, with its abandoned village from ancient times and the breathtaking view over Agropoli and all of the Gulf of Salerno, ending with the Amalfi coast on the horizon.

Possibly the best organic buffalo mozzarella in all of Campania. Buffalos raised and managed in a humane and environmental-friendly manner, which means that you better be there before 1.00 pm if you want to get your mozzarella: there's only so much milk every day in order to ensure quality and avoid unnecessary stress on the animals. Prices are perfectly in the range of what we locals pay for, excellent selection of buffalo-milk based products inside the Yoghurt bar and Bakery, and a great farm-to-table restaurant where to stop if you feel inclined to spend a bit of time for lunch. You won't be disappointed in the least if you want to have a taste of the real thing.
