La dune de Bouctouche was developed by J. D. Irving Ltd. to protect and restore one of the last great dunes on the northeastern coast of North America. La dune de Bouctouche offers visitors and school groups the opportunity to learn about the dune and its ecosystem. The fine sand dune extends 12 km into Bouctouche Bay and was created by the constant movement of sand due to the wind, tides, and ocean currents since the last ice age. The light house that you see from the house is actually on the tip of the dune. A must see while visiting.

Parlee beach is unquestionably New Brunswick's busiest beach! Great for people watching and to be seen. Often crowded in the summer month, traffic to and from the beach can be a bit of a nightmare during peak tourist season. As well, in the last 2 years, there has been issue with the bacteria count at the beach, because of excessive rain, which can create surface runoff that can carry bacteria into the water, which has resulted in the beach being closed for swimming.
