The Peachtree Center MARTA station is in the heart of downtown Atlanta. Because of its depth underground and multiple exits and entrances, the station layout can be confusing for first-time visitors. When you get off the train, there are two main exits off the train platform marked as “To John Portman Blvd” and “To Ellis Street”. The John Portman exit (formerly Harris Street) is in the north end of the platform while the Ellis Street exit is at the south end. Both of these exits also have options to exit on the east or west side of street.

Best described as an urban adventure in sustainable gardening- this community garden was a hill covered in kudzu just a few years back. Today it consists of 19 private plots and has donated over 1610 pounds of vegetables from its Plant-a-Row-For-The-Hungry program. It's a nice little place to wonder around and explore, plus the ATL police horses live just down the street.

Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's career home run record -- which had stood for nearly 40 years -- on April 8, 1974, at Atlanta's Fulton County Stadium, when he hit his 715th home run. The stadium was torn down in 1995, but the section of outfield fence that the ball flew over was left standing. It currently stands in the middle of a parking lot that will soon be a construction site.

You wouldn't know it to look at it, but one of the most indelible and stirring Olympic moments happened on this structure over 22 years ago when Muhammad Ali, suffering then from Parkinson’s Disease, lit the flame during the Opening Ceremonies for the 1996 Games almost 36 years after his Gold Medal win in the 1960 Olympics. It is deemed the 'Ali Moment' and ESPN ranked it as the 8th most memorable sports moment out of 100 in the past 25 years.

The Erskine Memorial Fountain, which was Atlanta’s first public drinking fountain, is an even older structure than most of the Grant Park homes. It was originally located in what is now Midtown Atlanta, but was relocated after the surrounding streets were regraded in 1912. It has resided in Grant Park for over 100 years.
