Gulfport is a cute little laid back neighborhood of st pete. Its older, has a little beach front, theres farmers markets and always live music. there is little local restaraunts and shops. If your looking for an area less commercialized this is a cute little communitee to visit.

Sightseeing
This may be a long day trip but if your looking to explore some really clear natural spring rivers here in florida this is a fun spot. they have kayaks you can rent, take a swim with some manatees, and even a watch a live mermaid show!

St. Pete Pier is newly remodled with some great views of Tampa Bay and also downtown st pete. There are a few open air restaurants here.

Amusment park with animals!
Busch gardens is a fun amusment park with roller coasters and our favorite the animals. You can go for an adrinalin ride on a roller coaster or feed giraffes. Wait in line to ride the train its a nice experience to ride through where all of the anmials live on the property.

Water Park
WATER PARK! need I say more?
family zones for the littles, wave pool, slides, and my fave.. the lazy river.. where you just sit on a floaty and float around the park all day lol.
there are lockers here that you can pay by the day and cafes to eat at. -local tip- leave your snacks in the car in a cooler you can come in and out after youve paid.
*dont leave valuables in car*

Sting ray shuffle!
If youre not from florida you might not be aware of the "sting ray shuffle!" ...
Florida is known for its beautiful beaches and water ways but beware there are lots of life that lives in our oceans, rivers, lakes, and even little backyard ponds!
When walking in the ocean drag your feet through the sand to kind of shuffle. This is to prevent being stung by a sting ray. Sting rays burrow in the sand and lay. they have a large spikes on their tail that stings you. If you shuffle around this startles them and you dont stomp on the spike and get stung!
