It is now larger and nicer and is a great place to visit if you want a casual meal, a beer, or to take in some live music. It is kind of a Phish shrine as well. An easy drive to Mt. Philo - maybe 20 minutes from our home - and an easy climb up an excellent trail. You will be rewarded with some of the best views of Lake Champlain, the Adirondacks, and a good bit of the Green Mountain range too.
A challenging and rewarding climb. Requires a little bit of scrambling but most kids and adults will be fine. The summit is awesome with 360 degree views. This mountain is located about 20 minutes from our home.

The highest and in my opinion the best mountain to climb in VT. It takes more than an hour to get to the trailhead from our home, but it is well worth it. Take the Sunset Ridge Trail to the summit. It is the most scenic and breathtaking climb in all of VT.
