This beloved gem brings is a fantastic place to buy fresh produce, cheese, fish, flowers, and more. It’s also a wonderful place to take photos and soak up the history of Seattle. If you’ve never been to Pike Place, this is an absolute must visit!

Fun Fact, in November of 2015, the Market Preservation Authority had the gum removed and disposed of to prevent erosion of the bricks. It took 130 hours of labor and 2,350 lbs (1,070 KG) of gum was removed from the wall. Following the removal, gum is now being re-added to the wall.

Built for the 1962 World’s Fair. The observation deck has a beautiful view of the city and a restaurant at the top. The restaurant is revolving, so you get 360 degree views as it slowly moves while you dine.

The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, or Ballard Locks, is such a great place to visit. Learn more about the famous locks that connect the Puget Sound to Lake Union by watching the boat traffic move in and out and then view the fish ladder in the underground structure that gives clear glass views of the fish swimming through the locks (summer is best for the salmon runs).

The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, or Ballard Locks, is such a great place to visit. Learn more about the famous locks that connect the Puget Sound to Lake Union by watching the boat traffic move in and out and then view the fish ladder in the underground structure that gives clear glass views of the fish swimming through the locks (summer is best for the salmon runs).
Instead of driving, take the West Seattle water taxi for a quick visit to Alki Beach (bring a bike). It's an enjoyable ride and has great views of downtown Seattle.
