City/town information

We hope with this guidebook to bring you closer to some of the most beautiful villages Catalonia has to offer. All of them are almost always included in every guidebook's list, with Cadaqués (a typical fishermen's village) and Besalú (a medieval town surrounded by beautiful landscapes) usually at the top of the list.
Found by the sea shore, a traditional fishermen's town, Cadaqués is considered to be one of the most beautiful towns in the whole country. The painter Salvador Dalí found his main source of inspiration here and the house where he developed his artistic work can be visited. It's a bit far-away from Barcelona (2 h 30 min by car) but if you have time to spare, paying it a visit is highly recommended.
