Listed in the National Registry of Historic Places, The Old Jail is a must-visit when in St. Augustine! Built to look like a hotel in the Romanesque Revival style and painted in an unassuming color, visitors will find that the Old Jail has been renovated to give tourists a glimpse into the daily lives of St. Augustine’s most notorious prisoners living under the penal system of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Costumed actors tell tales of the jail and its occupants, and even book you as an inmate! Grilled cheese, craft beer, music, and arcade all in one!! Here at Sarbez! we LOVE craft beer. We have the local stuff, the not-so-local stuff, and even some weird stuff. We even have regular beer, that you know... isn't craft beer. The domestic American stuff, and some of that fancy-schmancy foreign stuff. Not into beer? No problem... WE HAVE WINE! Not into wine? ...Kombucha! Not into that either... well, we have water and juice and lots of other wet liquid things! Come in and taste it all! Without a doubt the best gourmet grilled cheese in all of St. Augustine. Probably all of Florida even. Maybe even the world. We pride ourselves in the art and craft of the most delicious sandwich known to man. Not only that, we keep the kitchen open until 2am which makes us ONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO GO FOR SOME LATE NIGHT GRUB! Think about it... if you have been out all night enjoying the neighborhood pubs and clubs, we're literally the only peoople open around here serving food UNTIL 2AM! It's unbelievable! Dude, you won't be disappointed. You're going to love it. Welcome to the most kick-ass place in all of St. Augustine to support local music! Seriously, we take this stuff seriously. We LOVE our local artists and we do what we can to give them the best place in town to flex their musical muscles. We have shows nearly every single day with music ranging from Reggae to Country, to Funk and Electonica. It's insane! THAT'S NOT ALL! We also host non-music events like art shows where artists can display their artwork and even make a few sales! So in short... come on in and listen some to jams and buy something for your house! The Sarbez! Arcade! is not only the best arcade on Anastasia Island, but probably all of St. Augustine. In fact... it's probably the ONLY arcade in St. Augustine! Can you think of one? I surely can't! We have awesome Pinball machines... STAR WARS pinball being one of them! Also old school favorites like Pac-Man and Gyruss... even Ghots and Goblins! Did we mention air hockey? Dude, air hockey. It's insane here and we're always getting more!

THE BEST BBQ IN ST. AUGUSTINE!! **CASH ONLY!!** A word to the wise for BBQ novice or those who frequent some franchise joints: It takes 6 to 15 hours to make authentic fresh smoked BBQ. That means you either get up REAL early to start your smokin' or you reheat and serve yesterday's meat. WE PREFER TO GET UP REAL EARLY. Or in the case of brisket, we begin our smoking process the night before. Each day begins by consulting the ghosts of BBQ Kings of past, an old voodoo witch in the swamp and a ouija board to assist us in guessing just how much meat our fine customers will consume this glorious day. After which we rub our butts (the shoulder, silly) and all of our other meats one more time with our special spices, cross our fingers, stoke the smoker and load it up. We REALLY hate to waste good meat so you may occasionally find that some hungry soul has beaten you to the last rib or pound of meat in the place. If this happens, we sincerely apologize and suggest you either go hunt 'em down, arrive earlier the next time, or better yet, call ahead. 'CAUSE WE JUST WON'T SELL YESTERDAY'S MEAT! We sell BBQ at it's perfect moment.

Our wood fired pizzas and are cooked at temperatures exceeding 900 degrees. The crust of this style pizza will have a charred blistering appearance. Because of the lighter makeup of this pizza we recommend no more than three toppings. All Burgers come with natural cut fries or coleslaw. We offer a 1/3 or 1/2 pound burger and cook them medium to medium well unlessotherwise requested. Thank you!

What started off as a vision for Big Island Bowls food truck owners has become a reality with the opening of The Village Garden, the first venue of its kind in St. Augustine. For years, Big Island Bowls occupied a space next to Mojo’s Tacos, until owners Kelly and Brendan Schneck decided it was time to make a space for themselves and other local food trucks. The Village Garden is a community-centered outdoor venue with four permanent food trucks and two rotating guest food trucks every day. The four permanent food trucks include Big Island Bowls, New York Beach Bagels, and Pele’s Wood Fire, and Good Karma Cafe. Open seven days a week, The Village Garden has food options to satisfy every palate in town.

Although we do not take reservations, we have created an enjoyable environment with ample seating to accommodate our wait. We have waterfront seating as well as an “Old Florida” style pavilion. There are three bars serving award winning wines, as well as craft cocktails featuring local spirits and brews. Our deck accommodates comfortable seating with heaters flanking each table while giving you a front row seat to sunsets off the intracoastal waterways. Our covered and weather protected pavilion maintains comfortable dining in any weather. Our outdoor oyster bar or sunset bar, call it what you like but this is our ever evolving but always uplifting part of our restaurant. It’s a place to sit and drink a beer and enjoy oysters while taking in the sunsets that make us famous. It’s a nice respite from the the fine dining experience that we have become known for.

The Reef, originally called Comptons, was built by the Usina family on a beautiful piece of oceanfront property in tranquil North Beach — three miles north of the Usina Bridge — on land owned by the family for generations. Comptons opened in 1989 and enjoyed great success for the next ten years. It closed in 1999 due to the ill health of Mr. Compton and hurricane damage. One of few remaining true Oceanfront restaurants in Northeast Florida, The Reef, reopened in 2002 under the direct ownership of the Usina’s, commands the most spectacular views. Sit at any table inside and the view is dynamic to say the least, or enjoy the recently rebuilt and expanded deck where you not only look out at The Atlantic Ocean, you listen to it too as the waves break and the birds sing. To complement this vista our culinary team under the direction of Greg Cooper delivers a menu primarily of fish and seafood balanced with beef, poultry, pasta and creative specials always fresh and sourced locally when possible.

The Lincolnville Historic District is an area of the city of St. Augustine, Florida established by freedmen following the American Civil War and located on the southwest peninsula of the "nation's oldest city." It was designated as an historic district in 1991 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally recorded with 548 contributing buildings, the district is bounded by Cedar, Riberia, Cerro and Washington streets and DeSoto Place. In the late 20th century, numerous African Americans moved from this district to newer housing in suburbs, following the postwar pattern of settlement. In the 1990s, the city of St. Augustine engaged in extensive demolitions in Lincolnville. The number of surviving historic buildings was markedly reduced. Since the turn of the 21st century, the city has sought more demolitions to enable redevelopment of the area.

HISTORIC DOWNTOWN The heart of the First City is found here in Historic Downtown. The heart of the city of St. Augustine is here in the Historic Downtown where guests will find a majority of the city's restaurants, shopping, hotels, and attractions. The Historic Downtown is the oldest part of the city with many buildings dating back to the 1700s — and with streets that have existed from long before that —combine to create a walkable city obviously designed with old European concepts. This Historic Downtown is on the National Register of Historic Places, as are over twenty other sites within the district from the Alcazar Hotel to the Ximenez-Fatio House. The Historic Downtown creates a walkable city and a beautiful area for finding things to do like shopping, visiting museums and churches, dining, and listening to live music. The Historic Downtown is also home to the beautiful bayfront with lovely panoramic views of the Matanzas Bay and an inviting bayfront walk along the Matanzas River from the Castillo de San Marcos to the former 16th Century Jesuit monastery that is now Headquarters for the Florida National Guard. A number of eateries have views of the Matanzas, including A1A Ale House and Harry’s Seafood. Those who wish to stay in the Historic District, near the water, may want to check out the Bayfront Inn and the Edgewater Inn. The top-rated attractions in the area reflect the importance of history in shaping St. Augustine, including the Flagler Legacy Tours, Lightner Museum, and the Colonial Quarter. Another defining feature of the Historic District is the architecture. The design on building facades represents the height of Spanish Colonial and Spanish Renaissance Revival architecture. This area of town showcases everything from early European design, Florida bungalow-style houses, and Gilded Age extravagance. The Historic Downtown of the nation’s oldest city represents much of U.S. History from 1565 and is sure to offer activities for the whole family to enjoy.

For more than two centuries, Vilano Beach has been the beach that locals go to. It’s a choice spot north of St. Augustine popular for its casual atmosphere, quiet ambiance, and natural surroundings. To get to Vilano Beach, you must take the scenic route. And by that, we mean coastal AIA, a designated Scenic Byway. This Byway supports a variety of wildlife including birds, the gopher tortoise, and endangered species. The Vilano Beach Pier is located nearby on the river side of the Matanzas inlet, and it is one of the best vantage points to watch the sunset over downtown St. Augustine. Some of the best local restaurants on the Northeast Coast are located in Vilano Beach. Cap’s on the Water, The Reef, Aunt Kate’s, Kingfish Grill, and Beaches all have something in common. They offer outdoor seating and waterfront views, the freshest seafood and Old Florida favorites such as shrimp and grits, Minorcan Clam Chowder, succulent shrimp, and flavorful farm-to-table fare. All served up by friendly locals. Choose from surf fishing, fishing from the pier, or launch your boat from the ramp. Boaters can tie up at the marina, the pier, or at one of many local restaurants with docks for guests to disembark and take a break from the waves. Red Boat Water Tours delivers stunning views of St. Augustine and Matanzas Bay from the water. Choose from a Sunset Tours or a Dolphin Odyssey. Florida Water Tours will take you on an eco-tour, where a knowledgeable guide will point out dolphins, fish, birds, and share information about different species. Yes, you can take four-wheel-drive vehicles onto Vilano Beach. Vehicle access is limited seasonally and by the beach and weather conditions. For more information about beach access and permits, visit the St. Johns County website. Yes, you may bring your dog to Vilano Beach. Keep your pet leashed at all times and be sure to pick up after your furry friend. Please observe all posted rules and regulations regarding beach use as well.

Project SWING is a fully equipped, interactive play area that was designed and built by the St. Augustine community in 1997. Much more than just swings and slides (though it has those, too), this 23,000 square foot playground offers a unique wooden play space complete with tubes, towers, a fort, a space shuttle, and a lighthouse. Older kids will love the interactive exercise elements, while toddlers will be happy in their own little playground with sandbox, play trolley and boat. There’s also a picnic area and pavilion. The park limits entrance and exit to one location only for security. The name is an acronym for "St. Augustine's Wish for Its Next Generation"
