Great beach and just north is a n off leash dog beach.
Great trail to the beach! You can ride your bike on the whole trail. About halfway through there is a sandwich and salad shop and a playground for kids.

Great place to take kids. In the fall they have hay rides, pumpkin picking, apple picking etc. Year round they sell produce, ice cream and sandwiches. They have farm animals you can feed and take pictures with.

If you love hiking this is the place. You can hike through ecalyptus forests, hike to dunes or down to the beach. The sunsets are incredible.

William Randolph Hearst is an interesting person to research. He built a beautiful castle overlooking the coast line. On your drive up look for zebras on on his land.

Relaxation
Soak it up in a private hot tub and smell the yummy sulfur, hahah. It's a natural sulfur hot springs and gorgeous. Each tub has a special name and sits secluded on a hill. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a great secluded beach. You should know its closing optional so be prepared if you decide to hike down the side of the mountain to get there. Usually warmest beach because it's a cove.
