Vinoy Park is a great place to have a picnic, set up your hammocks, or go for a walk. The waterfront side walk brings you through North Shore Park (popular beach volleyball spot) to Coffee Pot Park.
Vinoy Park is an 11.6-acre park located on the downtown waterfront of St. Petersburg, Florida. Vinoy Park was named after the Vinoy Park Hotel, which was originally called the Vinoy Park when constructed in 1925 and sits adjacent to the park. The downtown waterfront park hosts yearly events including St. Petersburg's Ribfest, Tampa Bay's Blues Festival, Christmas displays, and various other events such as art festivals, concerts, and triathlons.

Treasure Island has a very nice beach to visit. We enjoy going there to get away from some of the crowds. Treasure Island, Florida got its name from an early hotel owner who buried and then "discovered" a couple of wooden chests on the beach. The hotelier claimed that the chests were filled with "treasure." News of the discovery spread quickly and people began calling the area Treasure Island. The name stuck.
