While most of the great treasures are on 4th street, you'll also find the historic San Rafael Mission and delicious eats like Sol Food on some of the smaller side streets.

Folks like to "keep it weird" in Fairfax. It's a town that retains Northern California's artistic, individualistic spirit. Drop by the Tea Temple for a visit with friends or some time to relax. Or rock out to live music in one of several local bars. There is hiking and biking all around.

Incredible pastries. (The almond croissant!) Great lunch too. They now make packaged goods. And have numerous locations. If the Larkspur Landing store is too crowded for you, try the one on Magnolia. It's also quite close.

Larkspur Ferry is a great way to get into the city
The Larkspur Ferry is quite close to our guest suite. Even if you have a car, it is a great way to visit the city. You get a beautiful ride on the bay, views for days and you're dropped at the SF Ferry Building which is FULL of great shops and restaurants. (see additional listing in guidebook).
Fare is $12.50 each way.

Bus Stop is at the end of our road
Walk down La Cuesta to Sir Francis Drake Boulevard to grab a Golden Gate transit bus.
Bus #24 stops here. They run into the city via stops in Mill Valley & more. And they run west into Fairfax.
There is even a shuttle (Bus #25) that takes you the short distance to the ferry.

Smart Train - a new addition to Marin travel
We now have a light rail system that runs from Larkspur Landing north to Sonoma. It's a practical way to avoid traffic and to give you great views of all of Marin. Truly an enjoyable and comfortable ride.
