The Mazatlán 1873 Observatory in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico is a new attraction for 2021. It includes a ride up a steep hill in a funicular train to an observatory that is furnished as it would have been in 1873. There is also a bird exhibit and a mescal making workshop. 1873 Observatory house tour in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico There is a tour that includes a guided tour(spanish or english) of the Observatory house, then the tequila plant garden, then the aviary. Additionally, you can take a mezcal tour that gives you an overview of mezcal, which is a tequila-like alcoholic drink, and a tasting of a few types of mezcal. To purchase tickets, there is a ticket room which includes a gift shop. While waiting for your tour to start there are a few landings to take some great photos and some information about pirates! Additionally, there are stairs that you can take to walk up the hill. If you do walk up the hill, there is a monument to a saint that you can visit. After watching the video, you will take the funicular train up the hill. This is a ride in an open-air train car that goes up on the angle up to the observatory. The house is furnished with authenic furniture from the late 1800s. There are a number of rooms: living room, bedroom, office, etc. There are lots of antique items and photos for you to look at. You enter via 2 doors so the birds do not escape. Walking around the the aviary you can see tucans, parrots, flamingos, and other species of birds.
