Sightseeing
Schmuggler-Resort
4323 VT-108Family ski resort.
Closed when the first snowflake falls, but the rest of the year this is a must see and the best route to Stowe 3 out of 4 seasons. Parking area at the top with restrooms. Peregrine falcon nesting sites at the top of the sheer cliffs above parking area. During foliage season this is a particularly beautiful drive.

Hiking
A short hike that is very popular which means if you want the trail to yourself, go early especially if it is a warm weekend day. Sterling Pond is very pretty. Parking is at the top of Smugglers Notch. bear in mind that the Notch closes when the first snowflake falls, after that parking is available about a mile down the road where the gate closes the road in winter. In Winter it is a beautiful walk up the notch road. Great for snowshoes.

Moss Glen Falls is the most photographed waterfall in Vermont. If you are a photographer, it is an easy, very short hike to a rise where it is easy to get great photos.

Most of what you need for building projects is there , but more importantly, the staff has a deep knowledge of most building and fix it issues and can guide you through materials and know how when you can't figure something out. They sell maple syrup too.
