Food scene
Joe and Jillian own the Mill Creek Resort and take special care of their customers. Their breakfast, lunch, dinner, and milk shakes are well worth the stop. My favorite is breakfast and eating on their back deck with a view of the meadow. Very reasonably priced too. They serve American style cuisine and use farm fresh ingredients. They also have some staple items such as milk, eggs, ice, chips, beer, fire wood, and a few other things. They are just down the road from our cabin. You can walk there from the cabin. But if you choose to drive, it's only 5 minutes away.

Highlands Ranch Resort and Lounge offers fine dining and a full service bar. They serve American and seasonal food. The atmosphere is rustic elegance with indoor and outdoor dining with a beautiful view of Childs Meadow. They have live music and you can find the schedule on their website. They also now offer Horse back riding. The restaurant accepts reservations. To get to Highlands Ranch Resort, you would head towards Chester. But it's only a 10 minute drive from our cabin.

There is a General store next to the restaurant that has staple items and a little bit more. They have many souvenirs and other gifts. They are about a 15 minute drive from our cabin.

There is a General store next to the restaurant that has staple items and a little bit more. They have many souvenirs and other gifts. They are about a 15 minute drive from our cabin.

They are located just on the other side of Chester, close to Lake Almanor, and is about a 40 minute drive from our cabin.

Some of the best Mexican food I've had! If you are en route to our cabin and you happen to be going through Red Bluff, this would be a great dinner stop on the way in. It is about a 45 minute drive from our cabin. Very authentic food.

Chester has so many other dining options. They have Chinese food, Subway, Burger Depot, Kopper Kettle Cafe, a place to get some BBQ Ribs, and the Pine Shack Frosty.

Coffee, latte's, and more
I love the Coffee Station! They make the best drinks, have smoothies, and I especially like their breakfast bagels. The owner of this little coffee shop was so great in giving recommendations on local food favorites and "things to do". All of the employees are so pleasant.

You can use the little Holiday Market card, attached to our cabin key ring, to get a discount on some of your items. It is 20-30 minutes from our cabin.
