Casual wear advised

Margaret River has a general holiday vibe, so casual wear is the go. Comfortable walking shoes recommended. Bring a cardigan or light jacket even in summer - evenings can be cool. A long-sleeved light throw-over, hat and sunscreen for the beach are a good idea - don't ruin your stay with sunburn! Slides or flip-flops recommended for walking on sand - it can get very hot. Definitely bring a warm, waterproof jacket in winter - you don't want the weather to stop you getting out and about!

Tours and dining

Winery tours should be booked in advance. Popular restaurants and more upmarket dining require bookings at busy times (Friday and Saturday nights, school holidays, public holidays). Be aware that many restaurants add a 10%-15% surcharge on public holidays. Sunday mornings are usually the busiest for breakfast/brunch. Best to arrive before 9am if possible - otherwise be prepared for a bit of a wait for your food.
