This is a charming colonial town where all of the buildings are painted an incredible deep yellow color. It is a photographer's dream! Take a tour on a horse-drawn carriage, visit the gorgeous old convent, look around the small archaeological site, check out the cafes and shops. It's a perfect day trip, only an hour from the hacienda.

Take a tour on a horse-drawn carriage, visit the gorgeous old convent, look around the small archaeological site, check out the cafes and shops. It's a perfect day trip, only an hour from the hacienda.
Coba is a lesser known archaeological site that is one of our favorites to visit! It has giant pyramids and the best part is you can either rent bicycles or hire a trici driver to tour around the shady site. It is about 1.5 hours from our hacienda- well worth a day trip!

This small town is off the beaten path, but its Church of the Ex-Convent Santo Domingo, built in 1642, is well worth the detour! Beautiful, unique facade- a must visit for photographers. Take the highway NW toward Izamal about 12 km from Valladolid.

If you are looking for incredible artisan yogurt, cheese, milk, flan, crema espanola, produced locally, go no further. There is also a decent cafe here.

This is a delicious seafood restaurant in Tizimin, about 30 minutes away from the hacienda. There are also good options for non fish eaters. Not open for dinner because locals believe you get nightmares if you eat seafood too late. Afterwards go to the main plaza just down the street for a delicious coconut ice cream on a homemade cone from the ice cream man.

We love this restaurant, located on the main plaza of Valladolid. Delicious for any meal or cocktails. It is a great place to try out more upscale Yucatecan Cuisine in an elegant setting with great service.

There are a large cathedral, a convent, and two cenotes you can visit.

This is an incredible cenote. It is extremely touristy, and can get crowded, but there is a good reason for that- it's really cool! Only about 45 minutes from the hacienda.
