I come here as often as I can, the Norwegian tapas style food is lovely, make sure you have the full tasting menu. Not cheap, but great food. I recommend it to all my guests who wants to taste Norwegian food in a new way. Very popular, book a table.

We recommend walking here through the Nygårdsparken, Møhlenpris is a typical central neighbourhood, with brick houses. On Sundays there is a bric-a-brac market here, and outside the café are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the sun. Near our place, great for working out (steep steps!) or looking at the views over Bergen. I recommend it to everyone! Make sure to walk up and across to Fløyen, a long dirt roads. Takes a few hours, but it is a nice walk. After you made it to the top, it is like a nice walk in the park the rest of the journey.

This is one of the main attractions of Bergen. But all the locals love Fløyen too, so it is a busy mountain most weekends, but do not this put you off. There is lots of space here! And so many paths you can choose between.

Bergen's highest mountain. You can get to it by bus, taking the Ulriksbanen up to the top. Bring a packed lunch and enjoy the views! We recommend taking the cable car up to Ulriken, and walk across to Mt Fløyen and take the vernicular down to the city centre. It is a nice walk for the hikers! A great day out, takes a day (4-6 hours), but worth it on a sunny day.

We love this local hidden treasure, on top of a fortress. Great views. Beware; it is not child friendly as it has severe drops on all sides. But bring your picnic here, and relax in the grass.

Do not miss this little museum, not well known, but makes a big impression. Founded in the 15th c., St. George’s was a hospital for lepers until the middle of the 20th c. The present day buildings date back to the 18th c.

In 1658 there was a wedding between Norway’s wealthiest heir, Karen Mowat and a poor but proud Danish nobleman. Karen Mowat and Ludvig Rosenkrantz were given the farm Hatteberg as a wedding present. They built their home here, and called it Rosendal. It was finished in 1665. A guided tour at Baroniet Rosendal is a tour through different epochs. The rooms are influenced by owners over 250 years, and the manor is preserved as a home – the way it was when the last owners left in 1927.

In 1658 there was a wedding between Norway’s wealthiest heir, Karen Mowat and a poor but proud Danish nobleman. Karen Mowat and Ludvig Rosenkrantz were given the farm Hatteberg as a wedding present. They built their home here, and called it Rosendal. It was finished in 1665. A guided tour at Baroniet Rosendal is a tour through different epochs. The rooms are influenced by owners over 250 years, and the manor is preserved as a home – the way it was when the last owners left in 1927.
